Effect of water drops using photoshop

In this tutorial we will learn how to make effect of water drops using photoshop.


A) Open The Picture

Open the picture you want to work with and make a new layer:

B) Create some drops

Create some random drops using the elliptical marquee tool:

C) Apply gradient tool

Apply gradient tool in this way (use black to white):

D) Change the blend

Change the blend. mode to overlay:

 

E) Blending options

Now we need to make them look more 3D. To achieve this, we need some blending options like this:

F) Brush effect and see the final result

Make a new layer and pick up the brush to make some little reflections:


G) Download psd file

Hey nice photoshop with the water droplets. I usually do things like this in cinema 4d and export the droplet as a vector and play around with the levels and transarencies that way.

But if it works do it, we all achieve the same look overall i guess.
